Job summary

Piedmont Metals is seeking an Experienced Structural Steel Layout/Fabricator to read drawings, lay out and fabricate structural components to spec. The role requires welding/fitting experience, blueprint literacy, and precise measurement using straightedges and tapes.

You will interpret plans, set up and align parts, and operate hand and power tools safely. The day shift runs M-Thurs 6am–4pm and Fri 6am–2pm; weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specs.
• Experience welding/fitting structural steel.
• Knowledge of welding processes is preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure and rulers for precise layout.

Responsibilities

• Layout, position, align, and secure structural components per drawings/specs.
• Operate safety equipment and follow safe work habits.
• Examine pieces for defects and ensure conformance to specs.
• Set up tools and read plans to guide fabrications.
