Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit-for-duty medical.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules; perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints to determine locations, quantities, and sizes of materials.
• Fabricates metal parts per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units; hoists beams using cranes and signals operators.
• Verifies alignment of structural steel members with plumb bobs, laser, transit, or levels.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces using torches or welding equipment.
• Assembles hoisting equipment and rigging to move heavy equipment or materials.
• Estimates sizes, distances, and quantities; determines time, costs, and resources for work.
• Inspects subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specs.
