Job summary

Summit City Steel Erection (SCSE) is seeking experienced Structural Steel Ironworkers to join our Fort Wayne project teams. You will weld, bolt, rig, and install structural components on industrial sites, with safety at the forefront.

We offer weekly pay, overtime after 40 hours, paid time off, health/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and opportunities to advance to Foreman or Superintendent. Training and tools provided; tools you bring are welcome.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of structural steel erection experience or completion of an ironworker apprenticeship.
• Skilled in connecting and bolt-up, structural welding, rigging and signaling, torch cutting and fitting.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment welding test.
• Ability to read erection drawings, connection details, and piece marks.
• Own hand tools appropriate for the work.
• Valid driver's license and residence within two hours of Fort Wayne.

Responsibilities

• As a Structural Steel Ironworker, erect structural steel on construction sites and industrial facilities.
• Unload, sort, and stage steel materials for efficient workflow.
• Connect and install columns, beams, joists, and bracing; bolt and weld as required.
• Rig loads, signal crane operators, and assist with fabrication tasks as needed.
• Follow project drawings and safety standards; train apprentices when possible.
