Job summary

Florida Atlantic Ironworks is seeking skilled ironworkers to read blueprints, determine material needs, and verify alignment of structural-steel components on site. You will connect and secure beams, girders, and columns using bolts, rivets, or welding, while signaling cranes and ensuring workspace safety.

Candidates should hold welding certificates, understand math relevant to fieldwork, and demonstrate strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Ability to read specifications and blueprints to determine materials.
• Ability to understand varying levels of mathematics relevant to the job.
• Must be able to speak and understand English in oral and written form.

Responsibilities

• Read specifications and blueprints to determine materials and quantities.
• Verify alignment of structural-steel members using plumb bobs, lasers, or levels.
• Connect columns, beams, and girders according to blueprints and supervisor instructions.
• Hoist steel members into place using cranes and proper signaling.
• Bolt, rivet, or weld structural-steel members for final attachment.
• Field assemble metal parts according to blueprints and supervisor directions.
• Operate and maintain equipment and tools safely.
