Job summary

Florida Atlantic Ironworks is seeking a Steel Erection Welder / Ironworker to install, align, and weld structural steel components including beams, columns, and girders on construction sites. The role requires blueprint reading ability, current welding certifications or the ability to pass weld tests, and experience in steel erection in fast-paced environments.

Candidates must be physically capable of working at heights, in outdoor conditions, and communicating in English.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of rigging and signaling.
  • Basic to intermediate math skills.
  • Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Install structural steel including beams, columns, joists, and decking.
  • Align steel components using levels, lasers, and plumb bobs.
  • Perform structural welding in accordance with project requirements.
  • Bolt and secure steel members into place.
  • Signal crane operators to safely hoist materials.
  • Assemble steel frameworks and structural components.
  • Cut, bend, and weld steel using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Safely operate lifts, hoists, and other jobsite equipment.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions.

Position Summary

The Steel Erection Welder / Ironworker is responsible for installing, aligning, and welding structural steel components including beams, columns, and girders.
