Midsouth Steel seeks dependable Field Crew Members to support structural steel erection in the Kings Mountain, NC region. Role involves welding, reading drawings, and traveling regionally as needed.

Ideal candidates have hands-on steel experience, read shop drawings, and can work in physically demanding construction environments with a team. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Construction and structural steel experience required.
• Welding experience with stick and/or MIG; TIG and flux-core a plus.
• Ability to read shop drawings, blueprints, and construction prints.
• Read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
• Physically demanding outdoor work and teamwork in field settings.
• Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and travel willingness across the region.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural steel erection and installation per project plans and procedures.
• Assist with layout, assembly, fitting, positioning, and installation of steel components.
• Weld structural steel using stick and MIG; TIG/flux-core is a plus.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, erection drawings, blueprints, and construction prints.
• Use tape measure and take accurate measurements to 1/16 inch.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction gear.
• Coordinate with field crew, foremen, PMs, and other trades; follow safety rules and site procedures.
• Maintain tidy, safe work areas and perform other field duties as assigned.
