Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a background in structural and miscellaneous steel for commercial and institutional projects. This role focuses on preparing accurate bids for fabrication and erection scopes, collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specs, and RFQs to generate complete takeoffs
• Prepare competitive cost estimates covering material, labor, equipment, and subcontracts
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors
• Support bid strategy, scheduling input, and proposal development
• Maintain accurate records and cost data for future benchmarking
• Read and interpret construction drawings and steel detailing
• Demonstrate 3+ years of estimating experience in structural/misc. steel fabrication and erection
• Maintain strong Excel skills; experience with estimating software is a plus
• Familiarity with AISC standards and industry best practices
• Detail-oriented and deadline-driven with strong communication skills
• Experience in the Florida commercial, education, or government construction markets
• Exposure to design-build and design-assist project delivery
• Understanding of shop fabrication workflows and field erection sequencing
