Job summary

IMI is seeking an Experienced Construction Estimator to bid structural and miscellaneous steel for commercial and industrial projects, including government contracts and high-rise developments. This in-house, full-time role offers benefits and a collaboration-driven environment in Colorado.

Your work includes analyzing cost data, preparing detailed bids, and using Tekla/PowerFab to produce competitive proposals while coordinating with project managers.

Qualifications

• Ability to analyze cost data to prepare high-quality bids.

• Fluency in architectural and structural bid documents.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to build relationships and sell the bid after submission.

Job description

Experienced Construction Estimator needed for Steel Contractor doing structural and miscellaneous steel for various commercial and industrial projects, government contracts, high-rise buildings, apartment complexes, restaurants, and sports fields.

THIS IS AN IN-HOUSE POSITION, NOT A REMOTE POSITION

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and compile cost data to ensure a high-quality bid
• Produce detailed bids using company specific format that clearly identifies project scope and includes accurate materials, shop and field labor
• Develop competitive bids using Tekla/PowerFab software
• Review bids with project managers and perform project hand-offs that convey scope

Key Skills:

• Strong Computer skills with the ability to use or learn Tekla/PowerFab software
• Experience with structural steel and miscellaneous metals
• Fluent in both Architectural and Structural bid documents
• Highly organized with the ability to communicate information in a clear and precise manner
• A person with the drive to build relationships and sell the job after the bid
• Detail-oriented with solid time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrated ability to manage and balance multiple projects
• Knowledge of AISC and AWS Standards
