Confidentiel in Kemp, TX is seeking a Structural Steel Estimator to turn drawings into winning bids. You will work with the lead estimator to ensure bids are accurate and competitive and to drive shop work.

This is an on-site, full-time role in Kemp with fast feedback during the hiring process. You will review bid packages, perform material takeoffs, estimate fabrication labor, and solicit quotes from vendors and subcontractors to deliver complete bid proposals.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years of structural steel estimating experience (3+ preferred), ideally with a steel fabricator.
• Track record estimating structural steel fabrication projects from takeoff through final proposal.
• Confidence reading and interpreting structural drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
• Strong working knowledge of structural shapes, plate fabrication, and miscellaneous metals.
• Understanding of connection types and fabrication methods, including welding, bolting, machining, and coatings.
• Experience on industrial and commercial projects.
• Experience requesting and comparing vendor and subcontractor quotes.

Aufgaben

• Review bid packages, structural and architectural drawings, and specifications for industrial, commercial, and miscellaneous metals projects
• Perform complete material takeoffs: wide flange beams, channels, angles, HSS tubing, plate, structural pipe, and miscellaneous metals
• Estimate fabrication labor based on connection types, welding, bolting, machining, and coatings
• Solicit, compare, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes (detailing, erection, galvanizing, painting, materials)
• Build and deliver complete bid proposals, including clear scope, inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications
• Work closely with the lead estimator and shop leadership to keep bids accurate and competitive

A structural steel fabricator serving industrial and commercial projects is hiring a Structural Steel Estimator. You'll work directly with the lead estimator to turn drawings into winning bids, at a shop where your numbers drive real work on the floor. The hiring process is quick: qualified candidates can expect to hear back within days, not weeks.
