Job summary

Florida Atlantic Ironworks is seeking a Steel Erection Welder / Ironworker to install, align, and weld structural steel components on industrial and commercial projects in Miami. This role requires blueprint reading proficiency, experience with steel erection, and certified welding practices in fast-paced environments.

The ideal candidate can read blueprints, follow safety guidelines, and operate lifts and hoists while coordinating with crane operators to safely assemble frames and assemblies on

Qualifications

• Welding experience with current certifications or ability to pass weld tests.
• Experience in structural steel erection preferred
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Knowledge of rigging and signaling
• Basic to intermediate math skills
• Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
• Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written)

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Install structural steel including beams, columns, joists, and decking
• Align steel components using levels, lasers, and plumb bobs
• Perform structural welding in accordance with project requirements
• Bolt and secure steel members into place
• Signal crane operators to safely hoist materials
• Assemble steel frameworks and structural components
• Cut, bend, and weld steel using appropriate tools and equipment
• Safely operate lifts, hoists, and other jobsite equipment
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
• Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions
