Job summary

Florida Atlantic Ironworks is seeking a Steel Erection Welder / Ironworker to install, align, and weld structural steel components such as beams, columns, and girders on construction sites in Tampa. The role requires reading blueprints, certified welding practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Ideal candidates will have welding certifications or pass weld tests, experience in structural steel erection, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Welding experience with current certifications or ability to pass weld tests.
• Experience in structural steel erection preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Knowledge of rigging and signaling.
• Basic to intermediate math skills.
• Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work.
• Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Install structural steel including beams, columns, joists, and decking.
• Align steel components using levels, lasers, and plumb bobs.
• Perform structural welding in accordance with project requirements.
• Bolt and secure steel members into place.
• Signal crane operators to safely hoist materials.
• Assemble steel frameworks and structural components.
• Cut, bend, and weld steel using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Safely operate lifts, hoists, and other jobsite equipment.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions.
