Job summary

JITECH is seeking a Structural Steel Detailer to produce precise 3D models and fabrication/erection drawings using SDS2. You’ll review contracts, incorporate revisions, and support material take-offs, coordinating with project teams to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.

The role emphasizes detailed detailing, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and ongoing development of SDS2 capabilities within the Project Execution team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of structural steel detailing experience.
• Experience with SDS2 for development of models and fabrication drawings.
• Ability to read structural and architectural drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Knowledge of AISC, AWS standards and IBC relevant to detailing.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and MS Office tools.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate and edit fabrication shop drawings for steel fabricators.
• Review drawings and specifications to understand detailing requirements.
• Maintain consistency between contract documents and detailing deliverables.
• Create and update erection drawings to support field assembly.
• Prepare material take-offs and related project information.
• Coordinate detailing information with modelers and project team.
• Incorporate revisions and checking comments into drawings.
• Follow JITECH detailing standards and pursue quality improvements.
