Job summary

AEP Manufacturing Administrative Services is seeking a Structural Steel Detailing Manager to lead the detailing department within our Turnkey Processing Solutions, LLC subsidiary. You will oversee SDS2 modeling and detailing, manage a team of detailers, and coordinate with engineering, project management, fabrication, and customers to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate has extensive SDS2 experience, strong leadership, and a thorough understanding of structural steel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in engineering tech or drafting, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years structural steel detailing experience.
• 3+ years detailing leadership, supervision, or project coordination.
• Advanced proficiency with SDS2 Steel Detailing software.
• Knowledge of AISC and AWS standards and detailing practices.
• Experience with SDS2, BIM workflows, and model-based coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the structural steel detailing department and staff.
• Plan, prioritize, and allocate detailing resources across projects.
• Ensure on-time delivery of fabrication packages and drawings.
• Review models for equipment mounting, access, and constructability.
• Maintain detailing standards, templates, and quality procedures.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction teams.
