Job summary

Teichert Solar is seeking a Structural Steel Drafter to support detailing for shop and erection drawings of structural steel and miscellaneous fabrication. You will translate designs into coordinated detailing for safe and efficient construction, using Tekla Structures or AutoCAD.

Working with Project Engineers and fabrication shops, you’ll verify dimensions, prepare BOMs, maintain CAD libraries, and ensure drawings meet AISC and AWS standards while contributing to on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in drafting/CAD technology or equivalent training/experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years in structural detailing or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or similar drawing software.
• Valid Driver's License and pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Detailing & Drafting for shop and erection drawings.
• Prepare BOMs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
• Interpret drawings per AISC/AWS standards.
• Verify dimensions, connections, and material specs.
• Coordinate with Project Engineers and fabricators to resolve conflicts.
• Maintain design standards and CAD library.
• Track drawings to meet project timelines and client expectations.
• Maintain project logs and documentation.
