Job summary

Central Texas Steel Erectors in the Austin area is seeking an experienced steel decker to install metal roof and floor decking on structural steel buildings. Competitive pay and steady work are offered. You will read drawings, operate screw guns and powder-actuated tools, and must be able to work at heights.

Qualifications

• Previous structural steel decking experience required.
• Experience installing metal deck on commercial steel structures.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work at heights and lift 50+ lbs.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Install metal roof and floor decking on structural steel buildings.
• Lay out, position, and secure metal decking.
• Install sidelaps, closures, and pour stops.
• Operate screw guns, welding equipment, and powder-actuated tools as required.
• Read and interpret structural drawings and deck layouts.
• Work safely at heights while maintaining OSHA safety standards.
• Work efficiently with the steel erection crew to keep projects on schedule.
