Job summary

Mid-State Welding in Clinton, MS is seeking a Cost Estimator - Structural Steel to join our team. You will perform detailed takeoffs, review project scope, and develop estimates for leadership review to price for bids.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented and analytical, comfortable reading construction drawings, with experience in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, fabrication, and steel detailing. Proficiency in Excel and Tekla PowerFab is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings to develop accurate estimates.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills for pricing.
• Experience with structural steel, miscellaneous metals, fabrication, or steel detailing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review structural, architectural, and miscellaneous-metal drawings and project scope.
• Perform detailed material takeoffs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
• Develop detailed project estimates including labor, materials, coatings, freight, and outside services.
• Verify vendor quotes for scope and requirements; prepare leadership-ready estimates.
• Track bids and compare estimated costs with actual project results; manage multiple estimates.
