Job summary

VISION Manufacturing Technologies is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform dimensional and visual inspections of machined parts and assemblies used in aerospace applications. You will review manufacturing documentation to ensure compliance with customer requirements and work under the QA Supervisor's direction.

The role requires reading complex drawings, interpreting measurement data, and using precision tools. Prior aircraft structural experience is preferred; AS9100D knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 2 years of formal training or equivalent in a related occupation.
  • Minimum of 4 years of aircraft structural experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AS9100D is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections of machined parts and assemblies from drawings and specs.
  • Review manufacturing documentation to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Support internal audits and customer audits under QA supervision.
  • Prepare rejection documentation for nonconformities and participate in root cause analysis.

Summary: Perform dimensional and visual inspections of machined parts and structural assemblies.Perform a thorough review of manufacturing documentation/quality records to ensure compliance with customer requirements.Work under the direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work from applicable drawings, specifications, work instructions, vendor instructions or other documentation using inspection tools and gages.
  • Visually inspect the condition of material and parts.
  • Equipment expected to be utilized can include calipers, micrometers, protractors, height gages, pin gages, dial indicators, and various other precision measuring devices to perform simple to complex inspection operations.
  • Aid to determine inspection techniques and methods for appropriate inspection applications.
  • Clearly define nonconforming conditions, noting, engineering requirements, condition, and variation from nominal.Prepare rejection documentation.
  • Report any unusual circumstances, conditions, or defective material to the supervisor. When required, participate in root cause identification and corrective action development.
  • Participate in company internal audits and support customer audits.
  • Comply with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and company standards.
  • Required to work in a shop environment and may perform duties not necessarily detailed in this job description, but not out of scope of current job classification.
  • Conducting First Article Inspections. IPI Sheets and Bubble drawings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and their associated documentation.
  • Ability to interpret data and measuring devices.
  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 2 years of formal training or equivalent in a related occupation required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of aircraft structural experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AS9100D is a plus.
