Job summary

PDM is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to evaluate structural steel parts during pre-fabrication and post-fabrication. You will document quality occurrences for improvement, training, and company betterment, reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical field preferred.
• Two+ years in structural steel or welding/fabrication industry.
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 welding standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn & understand company safety policies and promote compliance.
• Assist in transforming shop floor culture toward Continuous Improvement and Accountability.
• Demonstrate reliability through exceptional attendance.
• Embrace and enhance a positive culture.
• Become proficient in AWS D1.1 welding standards.
• Master documentation of Quality Control testing and inspection records.
• Gain proficiency in reading and interpreting shop drawings.
• Perform housekeeping responsibilities and follow 5S methodology.
• Mark products with identification and visual markings per QC documentation.
• Maintain documentation of: pre-fabrication and post-fabrication inspections, shop drawing corrections, tape measure calibration, mill tester calibration, stud welding tests.
• Inform management of any nonconformity of product or equipment issues.
• Perform duties in a professional manner.
• Work closely with management to ensure all Quality Control duties are performed.
• Work with production personnel on meeting and exceeding product quality.
• Support safety and production programs.
