Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Washington, DC is seeking a Structural Engineer to own projects, build client relationships, and drive work from proposal through construction and closeout. The candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in Civil or Architectural Engineering (Master’s preferred) with at least 6 years of progressive structural design experience, including project ownership and construction administration.

Proficiency in ETABS, RAM Structural System, RISA3D, and Revit is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of progressive structural engineering design experience, including project ownership and construction administration.
• Experience developing project proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets is preferred.
• Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, RISA3D, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and standards including IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
• Experience with BIM software such as Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering projects from proposal development through design, construction administration, and project closeout.
• Build and maintain client relationships; serve as primary contact for owners, architects, contractors, and project teams.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, and team coordination to ensure successful execution.
• Conduct structural analysis and design, coordinate calculations, drawings, specs, and documentation.
• Mentor engineers and BIM professionals while fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
