Job summary

KPFF Seattle's Structural Team seeks a lead structural engineer to manage diverse building projects from concept through closeout. The role emphasizes client liaison, team collaboration, and strict adherence to codes.

You will mentor junior staff and drive project excellence in coordination with architects and contractors. Applicants should have a BSCE in Structural Engineering with 7+ years in consulting, PE license, and proficiency with RAM, ETABS/SAP/SAFE, and REVIT.

Qualifications

  • BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
  • 7 years minimum experience with a consulting firm.
  • MSCE or MSE with emphasis in Structural Engineering (preferred).
  • Professional Engineering license in Civil Engineering.
  • Structural Engineering license.
  • Experience in design/construction of reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, masonry, and/or post-tensioned concrete for building structures.
  • Proficiency with RAM Structural Systems, CSI Software Suite (ETABS, SAP, SAFE), REVIT.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of structural engineering projects, from concept to closeout, ensuring timely and successful goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, building relationships and managing expectations.
  • Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders for effective collaboration.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other disciplines to integrate structural systems.
  • Participate in project meetings, overseeing timelines and budgets.
  • Contribute to proposal development and drive business growth through networking.
  • Manage Quality Control to comply with codes and standards.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and structural analyses per IBC, ASCE-7, AISC 360, ACI 318.
  • Utilize Revit/BIM for design coordination and drawing production.
  • Mentor junior engineers and oversee project administration.
  • Stay informed of industry advancements and integrate new technologies.
