Job summary

Core Group Resources seeks a Structural Project Engineer to design, analyze, and build aluminum and steel vessels in an active shipyard environment. You will generate models, drawings, calculations, BOMs, and production-ready designs that are safe, compliant, and buildable.

You will work across engineering, production, planning, and quality to turn requirements into practical solutions and may mentor junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of marine engineering, shipbuilding, or vessel design experience.
• Experience developing structural drawings, models, calculations, and production docs.
• Strong CAD and 3D modeling skills with ability to read complex drawings.
• Familiarity with ABS, NAVSEA or classification/regulatory requirements.
• U.S. citizenship due to government and defense contracts.

Responsibilities

• Design aluminum and steel vessel structures to meet specs and standards.
• Develop structural models, production drawings, calculations, and BOMs.
• Perform structural analysis to support fabrication and shipyard projects.
• Loft and nest components for CNC cutting and fabrication.
• Coordinate with planning, weld engineers, and other engineering disciplines.
• Support weight, stability, and structural integration assessments.
• Maintain engineering standards and documentation; assist early proposals.
• Participate in vessel testing and sea trials as required.
