Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Albany, NY is seeking a Project Engineer - Buildings/Structural to join our Buildings team. You will apply structural engineering principles to design low- to mid-rise buildings and collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients through concept to construction.

The role requires ABET accredited civil engineering degree with structural emphasis, PE license, and experience in commercial/educational projects; proficiency in Revit and structural software is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis from an ABET accredited university; Master's Degree is preferred.
• Experience in Commercial, Science & Technology, Educational, and Municipal type building projects is preferred.
• Minimum of 6-10 years of related structural engineering experience required.
• PE license is required.

Responsibilities

• Independently apply knowledge of structural principles and practices in various assignments.
• Prepare engineering calculations with the aid of computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculation.
• Create structural design plans and details in Revit.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines.
• Design and review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
• Analyze and interpret data, formulate, and solve problems.
• Provide direction to structural engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFI's.
• Perform field investigations/site visits, as needed.
