Job summary

Wright-Pierce, an award-winning environmental engineering firm, seeks a Structural Project Engineer to join our Maitland, Florida team. The role handles a variety of structural design projects with work also in New England, New York and other states; qualified candidates may be considered for Portland or Topsham, Maine offices.

Responsibilities include structural design for water and wastewater facilities, preparing specs, collaborating with multi-discipline teams, and drafting with Revit.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required; MS preferred.
• 5–15 years structural engineering experience, municipal water or wastewater background desired.
• Experience with Revit and structural design software; PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Structural design of water and wastewater facilities and civil/industrial infrastructure.
• Visually assess buildings, tanks and structures and document deficiencies.
• Evaluate renovations and modifications feasibility for existing infrastructure.
• Design new/renovations of low-rise buildings using reinforced concrete, masonry, wood, steel.
• Design reinforced concrete tanks above and below grade.
• Prepare project-specific structural specifications.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline teams; use Bluebeam; work with Revit technicians.
• Prepare Punch Lists and review submittals with contractors.

Job description

Wright-Pierce, an award-winning, multi-discipline environmental engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater and civil infrastructure, is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our Maitland, Florida team. This key role handles a wide variety of challenging structural design projects. Although the position is in Florida, project work will also include New England, New York, and other states. Will also consider a qualified candidate for Portland or Topsham, Maine offices.

Salary range is $78,000 - $125,000/yr.

NOTE: Final salary is based on education, experience, certifications, and location.

Responsibilities

• Structural design of water and wastewater treatment and civil/industrial infrastructure facilities.
• Visually assess buildings, tanks, and other structures and document deficiencies.
• Evaluate feasibility of proposed renovations and modifications to existing infrastructure.
• Design new, and renovations of existing, low-rise buildings constructed of reinforced concrete, masonry, wood, and steel.
• Design above and below grade reinforced concrete tanks.
• Tailor and prepare project specific structural specifications.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline project teams including architectural, process, civil, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical disciplines using Bluebeam.
• Perform drawing work with Revit and work with Revit technicians.
• Prepare “Punch Lists” of noted construction deficiencies and work remaining.
• Review structural construction submittals and respond to contractor requests for information.

Experience

• 5-15 years of structural engineering experience, preferably within the municipal water or wastewater engineering industry.
• Experienced with Revit and structural design software (STAAD or Tekla Structural Designer).

Certifications

• Registered Professional Engineer preferred.

Education

• BS Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required. MS preferred.
