Job summary

Osborn Engineering seeks a Structural Project Engineer with 4–7 years of experience to join our Orlando, Tampa, and/or St. Pete, FL offices. You will support a wide range of structural projects for private- and public-sector clients, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.

The role involves design and detailing for steel, concrete, masonry and timber, coordinating with architects and MEP, managing schedules and budgets, and performing site reviews and construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
• 4–7 years of experience in structural design in consulting engineering preferred.
• Proactive and collaborative team member with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design of new building structures as well as renovations and additions to existing buildings.
• Manage and coordinate projects with clients and other disciplines.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to assemble structural work products.
• Prepare structural integrity and assessment reports.
• Design and detailing of structures including calculations and modeling for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
• Prepare design deliverables for SD, DD, and CD levels.
• Coordinate with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and attend coordination meetings.
• Meet project schedule and budget requirements.
• Perform site reviews and construction administration during construction phase.

This position will report to the Associate Director of Structural Engineering and will play a key role in supporting a wide range of structural projects for both private- and public-sector clients. The ideal candidate will bring strong consulting experience, enjoy working collaboratively, and be excited about the opportunity to help shape and grow our structural team. Position Responsibilities

• Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.
• Manage and Coordinate projects with clients and other disciplines.
• Collaborate with Senior engineers to assemble structural work products.
• Prepare structural integrity and assessment reports.
• Design and detailing of structure including calculations and computer modeling, for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures
• Prepare design deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents.
• Coordinate with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and attend coordination meetings.
• Meet project schedule and budget requirements
• Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and ongoing continuous improvement efforts.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

• 4 – 7 Years of experience in Structural Design in Consulting Engineering.
• Proactive and collaborative team member.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Creative problem solver.
• Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as REVIT, RISA, ADAPT, EnerCalc, Tekla Structural Designer.
• Strong knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
• Strong knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
• Experience in designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s in Structural, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
• EIT or PE/SE License Preferred.
