Job summary

The Osborn Engineering Company seeks a Structural Project Engineer to join our Orlando, Tampa, and/or St. Pete offices. The role supports a wide range of private- and public-sector projects under the Associate Director of Structural Engineering.

Ideal candidates have 4–7 years of consulting structural design experience, strong collaboration with multiple disciplines, and a proactive, detail‑oriented approach to project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
• 4–7 years of structural design experience in consulting engineering.
• Proactive and collaborative team member.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with REVIT, RISA, ADAPT, EnerCalc and Tekla Structural Designer.
• Strong knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
• Experience in Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.

Responsibilities

• Design new building structures and alterations/renovations.
• Manage and coordinate projects with clients and other disciplines.

• Prepare structural integrity and assessment reports.

This position will report to the Associate Director of Structural Engineering and will play a key role in supporting a wide range of structural projects for both private- and public-sector clients. Position Responsibilities

• Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.
• Manage and Coordinate projects with clients and other disciplines.
• Collaborate with Senior engineers to assemble structural work products.
• Prepare structural integrity and assessment reports.
• Design and detailing of structure including calculations and computer modeling, for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures
• Prepare design deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents.
• Coordinate with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and attend coordination meetings.
• Meet project schedule and budget requirements
• Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and ongoing continuous improvement efforts.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

• 4 – 7 Years of experience in Structural Design in Consulting Engineering.
• Proactive and collaborative team member.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Creative problem solver.
• Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as REVIT, RISA, ADAPT, EnerCalc, Tekla Structural Designer.
• Strong knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
• Strong knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
• Experience in designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s in Structural, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
• EIT or PE/SE License Preferred.
