Summary

The Project Engineer will undergo a 2-month intensive training program at one of our engineering offices before relocating to a designated home office. The program prepares the trainee with skills to support customers technically and collaborate effectively with management and technical teams, ensuring the production of complete shop drawings and calculations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Process Management

• Maintain customer relationships via courteous communication and prompt service.
• Increase product specification through shop drawings and technical support.
• Develop relationships with sales and regional managers.

Engineering Design

• Interpret drawings accurately.
• Notify project managers of scheduling conflicts.
• Produce detailed CAD/BIM drawings of steel structures.
• Design steel structures, including curtain walls and load-bearing elements.
• Create logical and reviewable calculations for internal and client review.
• Perform structural calculations manually or using analysis software.
• Collaborate with team members to complete engineering tasks on time.
• Ensure drawings and calculations are reviewed and approved by supervisors.
• Make independent decisions on structural design methods to ensure safety.
• Assist leadership with project challenges and client satisfaction.

Office Responsibilities

• Manage daily office and engineering tasks using management tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized office environment.
• Work cooperatively with team members.
• Participate in meetings and discussions.
• Support technical inquiries and complete drawings or calculations as needed.
• Contribute to project completion and office goals with a positive team spirit.

Starting Pay: $32.46/hour
