Structures Mechanic

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Structures Mechanics for an opportunity in Savannah, Georgia.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, including drilling and riveting operations; ensure parts and assemblies meet requirements.
2. Rivet structural assemblies and parts using all necessary tools (e.g., portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers).
3. Remove fasteners without damaging structures.
4. Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence, rivet size, and hole patterns.
5. Check all work for defects and ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.
6. Maintain logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs).
7. Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
8. Perform repairs based on DMTs, MRRs, PCOs, and ensure installations meet conformity standards.
9. Maintain a clean and organized work area, support the 5S Program, and comply with safety regulations.
10. Work independently with minimal supervision.
11. Support Lean activities and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of experience in structural assembly.
• Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Skilled in close tolerance work and use of special tools.
• Ability to solve dimensional problems using fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read scales and perform basic math.
• Good comprehension of basic documents and instructions.
• Attention to detail, professional attitude, teamwork skills, and ability to meet schedules.
• Good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
• Reliable transportation and pass pre-employment drug and background checks.
