Job summary

AeroMech is seeking a Structural Mechanic and Part Fabricator to support aircraft modification and production at our Smyrna, TN and Sanford, FL facilities. You will fabricate and assemble structural components and avionics parts from blueprints, perform drilling, countersinking, and riveting to meet tight specifications.

The ideal candidate reads engineering drawings, works with close tolerances, and uses a range of hand tools.

Qualifications

  • Must work with close tolerances and precise fabrication requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble aircraft structural components and avionics-related parts from blueprints and drawings.
  • Perform assembly, drilling, countersinking, and riveting operations to specifications.
  • Read work orders, blueprints, sketches and operation sheets; determine rivet sizes and hole patterns.

Job description

AeroMech is seeking a Structural Mechanic and Part Fabricator to support aircraft modification and production activities at our Smyrna, TN and Sanford, FL facilities. This position is responsible for fabricating, assembling, fitting, drilling, and riveting structural components and avionics-related assemblies used in aircraft upgrade and installation programs. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working from engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions in a fast-paced aviation environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFabricate and assemble aircraft structural components and avionics-related parts from blueprints and engineering drawingsPerform assembly, fitting, drilling, countersinking, and riveting operations to required specificationsUse pneumatic drills, rivet guns, countersinks, files, reamers, and related hand toolsRead and interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheetsDetermine rivet sizes, hole patterns, and assembly sequencesAlign and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, clamps, pins, and fastenersInspect completed work to ensure conformity and quality standards are metPerform rework and corrective actions as requiredMaintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with company safety standardsSupport additional fabrication and installation activities as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredAircraft, avionics, manufacturing, or assembly experience preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawingsAbility to work with close tolerances and detailed fabrication requirementsBasic knowledge of hand tools and shop equipmentBasic computer skills requiredAbility to perform basic shop math and measurements using fractions and decimalsStrong attention to detail and quality workmanshipAbility to read and follow written instructions and proceduresStrong work ethic and ability to work independently or within a team environmentAbility to work with composite materials and resins is a plusPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to climb ladders, stands, and stairsAbility to work in small or restricted spaces as requiredAbility to perform repetitive fabrication and assembly tasksAbility to work any shift as operationally requiredTravel RequirementsTravel up to 25% may be requiredEmployment InformationFull-Time PositionWages negotiable based on experienceBenefitsAeroMech offers a competitive benefits package; additional details will be provided during the interview process
