HDR is seeking a part-time Structural Intern in Raleigh, NC. You will join the Building Engineering Services group and contribute to multidisciplinary design tasks while gaining valuable industry experience through mentoring and real-world project exposure.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and applying engineering techniques under supervision, with opportunities to work on high-impact facilities across multiple markets.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design of facilities related structures in support of diverse markets (Water/Wastewater, Healthcare, TMT, Civic, Municipal, Industrial, Data Centers, Federal).
• Support and coordinate with a multidisciplinary design team throughout the project life cycle.
• Support development of construction drawings, specifications, and calculations; review shop drawings during construction.
• Gain real-world experience on exciting projects.
• Participate in mentoring and young professionals programs with company leaders.
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Perform assignments under supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
• Perform other duties as needed.
