Job summary

Stfrancis in Chicago seeks a Structural Engineering student to support design and analysis tasks. You will use structural analysis and design software, conduct existing surveys, and document main structural systems and connections for various buildings.

Current students at a US‑accredited university (Master’s degree preferred) with AutoCAD, REVIT, and MS Office proficiency fit best. Experience with existing structures or restoration is a plus.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Structural Engineering at a US accredited university (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience with existing structures, building modification, and/or restoration is a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is required; REVIT is highly preferred; MS Office suite proficiency is required.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Use a variety of structural analysis and design software.
• Conduct existing surveys and document main structural systems and connections.
• Perform analysis and design of structural systems for various buildings and materials using building codes.
• Assist in direction, coordination, planning, and completion of projects with in-house staff and other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Currently studying Structural Engineering at a US accredited university (Master’s degree preferred).
• Good ability with structural analysis software.
• Experience with existing structures, building modification, and/or restoration is a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
• Proficiency in REVIT is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite is required.
• Positive team player.
• Self-motivated to meet deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively on multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Design and analysis experience in reinforced concrete, masonry, and steel.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly pay range: $21 to $25, based on skills, experience, certifications, and location.
