As a Structures Technician you will directly support Production with the removal/installation of structural components, fabrication/installation of metal components and installations of components on composite structures.
Essential Functions:
Accomplishment of airframe structural repairs and alterations including the installation of antennas, doublers, radios, racks, instruments, and equipment
Manufacture or repair sheet metal items as per written instructions, blueprints, and drawings
Properly document work completed in accordance with appropriate technical data and approved procedures and forms
Use of precision measurement tools such as calipers, scales, dials indicators, gauges, and micrometers
Use of hand, power and pneumatic tools such as rivet guns, rivet squeezes, drill motors, sanders, breaks and formers
Open and close areas of the aircraft as required to facilitate work completion
Communicate and interact professionally with customers to educate or answer questions regarding technical aspects within area of expertise
Travel to customer locations to perform essential job functions though our On-the-Fly service
Complete all training requirements schedule by the Training Department, to include regular completion of OJT forms
Maintain accurate and complete time records for both attendance as well as labor
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED
Familiar with FAA regulations
Applicant must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, perform layout, forming, drilling/riveting, and manufacturing of aircraft parts and assemblies. Not limited to sheet metal
Ability to read, write and speak English
Able to obtain an Airport Badge
Preferred Education and Experience:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
Some related work experience in Corporate Aviation
Avionics or Electrical education
Experience with aerospace connectivity systems
Experience with Inflight entertainment systems
Familiar with aircraft flight instruments systems
Supervisory Responsibility:
None
Work Environment:
Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in the hangar. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. This position is very active and the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl all day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. No specific vision requirements. Objects weighing 70 pounds or more must be accompanied by a second individual to avoid injury.
