Job summary

CAN Group seeks a Structural Inspector to support inspection and integrity assessment of offshore structures based in Angola, on a 28/28 rotation. Under the Structural Integrity Engineer, you will perform visual inspections and NDT, report defects, and maintain inspection records.

Qualifications

• University level education or recognised technical qualification.
• ASNT or PCN L2 in applicable NDT methods (MPI, DPI and/or UT).
• Offshore Survival and Medical.
• IRATA Rope Access (preferred but not essential).
• Basic knowledge of API RP 2A structural inspection requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, high-quality work.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct API RP 2A Level I visual inspections of offshore structures.
• Identify and report structural defects including corrosion, coating degradation, fatigue cracking, deformation, impact damage, missing or loose components, section loss and other anomalies affecting structural integrity.
• Perform supervised MPI, DPI, UT and basic ultrasonic lamination checks.
• Accurately record inspection findings, measurements, photographs and observations using approved company documentation and electronic reporting systems.
• Use calibrated, serviceable inspection equipment and maintain tools and consumables correctly.
• Escalate safety-critical findings promptly and maintain complete, traceable records.
• Follow HSE, Permit to Work and risk-assessment requirements, exercising Stop Work Authority when required.
• Work effectively with offshore teams and develop competence through training, mentoring and assessment.

Under the supervision of the Structural Integrity Engineer, you will carry out visual inspections and NDT, report defects, and maintain accurate inspection records.

The successful candidate will be experienced in the field of Structural Inspection and have demonstrable experience.

Candidates should possess the following:
