Job summary

General Motors (GM) is seeking an Engineering Group Manager in its Energy Conversion Systems division. You will lead a team responsible for hardware design and release within ECS, driving performance, quality, and timely delivery in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, 7+ years of engineering leadership, and knowledge of GM propulsion systems, with DFSS black belt as a plus. Domestic and international travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of engineering experience in all phases of product development.
• Knowledge of GM engineering processes and vehicle/propulsion development.
• Working knowledge of ICE propulsion and Electric Vehicle propulsion.
• Experience leading projects and people with strong interpersonal skills.
• DFSS black belt is a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to ensure excellence in GM engineering deliverables and release.
• Ensure functional, performance, safety, quality, reliability, durability, and serviceability targets are met.
• Recruit, attract, hire, and develop engineering talent; coach and mentor employees.
• Create an inclusive culture and align objectives with individual contributions.
• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
