Job summary

TRC Worldwide Engineering, Inc. seeks a licensed Structural Forensic Engineer to perform forensic investigations and structural evaluations for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.

You will assess structural failures, prepare detailed engineering reports, provide expert opinions, and support business development while collaborating with insurers, attorneys, property owners, and consultants. PE license is required (Tennessee preferred); ability to work independently in a remote

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Tennessee PE preferred.
  • Experience in forensic engineering and insurance-related investigations.
  • Strong report writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Proven client management and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic investigations involving structural failures and property damage.
  • Evaluate roofing systems, foundation settlement, retaining walls, water intrusion, and related damage.
  • Perform field inspections, analyze findings, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Provide expert opinions and technical recommendations for clients.
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers, attorneys, property owners, and consultants.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships to support business growth.
  • Participate in networking events, industry conferences, and marketing initiatives.

Job description

TRC Forensic Engineering is seeking a licensed StructuralForensic Engineer toperform forensic investigations and structural evaluations for residential, commercial, and industrial properties. This role involves assessing structural failures, property damage, and insurance-related claims, preparing detailed engineering reports, and providing expert technical opinions. The ideal candidate will have significant forensic engineering experience, strong client-facing skills, and the ability to support business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct forensic investigations involving structural failures and property damage.
  • Evaluate roofing systems, foundation settlement, retaining walls, water intrusion, structural distress, and sinkhole-related damage.
  • Perform field inspections, analyze findings, and prepare comprehensive engineering reports.
  • Provide expert opinions and technical recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers, attorneys, property owners, and consultants.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships to support business growth.
  • Participate in networking events, industry conferences, and marketing initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Tennessee PE preferred.
  • Additional state PE licenses are highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in forensic engineering and insurance-related investigations.
  • Strong technical report writing, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Property & Casualty insurance claim investigations.
  • Structural damage assessments and failure analysis.

  • Sinkhole and geotechnical-related structural evaluations.
  • Business development or seller-doer experience.
