Job summary

Tradesmen International, LLC is immediately hiring experienced Structural Fitters for projects located in the Shreveport, LA area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $35/hour based on experience plus $100/day per diem for Travelers 60+ miles from the job site.

Qualifications

• 1+ year fitting experience.
• Highschool diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• Crane experience.

Responsibilities

• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools
• Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes
• Align & fit parts according to specifications using jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps in position for welding or riveting
• Analyze engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements and task sequences
• Move parts into position by hand or utilizing cranes and hoists
• Setup and operate fabricating devices such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drill presses to bend cut form punch drill or otherwise form and assemble metal components
• Hammer chip and grind workpieces to cut bend and straighten metal
• Mark reference points onto floors or face blocks and transpose them to workpieces using measuring devices, squares, chalk and/or soapstone
• Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files ,portable grinders, and cutting torches
• Coordinate with welders to build up low spots or short pieces with welding
• Performs other duties as assigned
