Job summary

Nucor Corporation is seeking a structural fitter based in Texas. The role requires reading shop drawings, controlling scrap, and ensuring correct assembly of structural components.

You will operate welding tools and specialized equipment while maintaining strong safety practices. Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or GED and a 2G GMAW weld certification, with preferred crane and forklift certifications and prior welding experience.

Qualifications

• Reading drawings, prints and proficient with tape measure and micrometer.
• Experience with 2G GMAW weld certification.
• Prior welding/fitting experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of metal building system fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shop drawings.
• Maintain housekeeping and scrap control.
• Obtain and maintain the GMAW 2G welding certification.
• Assemble structural components correctly.
• Operate arc gouger, grinder, and magnetic drill.
• Communicate up and down the line to ensure quality and completeness.
• Be flexible to work any schedule.
• Perform and pass NDT welds and inspections.
• Uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards at all times.
