Job summary

The Structural Fitter - Fabrication role based in Houma, LA, requires hands-on fabrication experience and the ability to read ISO drawings and P&IDs. You will layout, cut, fit, and assemble steel components for welding and bolt-up using torches, plasma arc cutting, and other power tools.

A strong commitment to safety and quality is essential. Candidates must pass a hands-on fitter test and demonstrate safe work habits in all tasks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fabrication experience required.
• Ability to interpret ISO drawings and P&IDs.
• Proficient with cutting and fitting using torches and arc-cutting tools.
• Ability to create field sketches from blueprints.
• Commitment to safety and safe work habits.

Responsibilities

• Layout, position, aligns and secures parts for welding and bolt-up.
• Measure, mark, cut, bore, fit and install structural components per blueprints using hand and power tools.
• Participate in safety processes and JSA’s.
• Conduct behavioral based safety observations.

Job Title: Structural Fitter - Fabrication

Rotational Schedule: 5/2

Crew Change Location: Houma, LA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Layout, position, aligns and secures parts for welding and bolt-up.
• Measure, mark, cut, bore, fit and/or install various structural components in accordance with blueprints and job specifications using hand and power tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders/benders, etc.
• Participate in JSA’s and all other Safety, Health and Environmental Processes.
• Conduct behavioral based safety observations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 or more years prior fabrication experience
• Able to interpret ISO’s and P&ID’s
• Able to cut with a torch
• Square-cut and bevel-cut metal using arc cutting equipment
• Pierce and cut slots in metal using plasma arc cutting equipment
• Create field sketches
• Experience using safe work habits
• Candidates will be required to pass a Hands-on Fitter Test
