Job summary

Unknown company in Houma, LA is seeking a Structural Fitter - Fabrication to layout, cut, fit and assemble structural components per blueprints. You will operate hand tools and power tools, perform alignment for welding, and ensure safety through active participation in JSA and safety processes.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of fabrication experience, can read ISO’s and P&IDs, and can cut with torches, arc and plasma equipment while following safe work habits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fabrication experience.
• Able to interpret ISO’s and P&IDs.
• Able to cut with a torch.
• Square-cut and bevel-cut metal using arc cutting equipment.
• Pierce and cut slots in metal using plasma arc cutting equipment.
• Create field sketches.
• Pass Hands-on Fitter Test.

Responsibilities

• Layout, position, aligns and secures parts for welding and bolt-up.
• Measure, mark, cut, bore, fit and/or install various structural components per blueprints using hand and power tools.

Rotational Schedule: 5/2

Crew Change Location:Houma, LA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Layout, position, aligns and secures parts for welding and bolt-up.
• Measure, mark, cut, bore, fit and/or install various structural components in accordance with blueprints and job specifications using hand and power tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders/benders, etc.
• Participate in JSA’s and all other Safety, Health and Environmental Processes.
• Conduct behavioral based safety observations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 or more years prior fabrication experience
• Able to interpret ISO’s and P&ID’s
• Able to cut with a torch
• Square-cut and bevel-cut metal using arc cutting equipment
• Pierce and cut slots in metal using plasma arc cutting equipment
• Create field sketches
• Experience using safe work habits
