Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation in Corpus Christi, Texas seeks a Structural Field Engineer to support a combined cycle power project. You will interpret drawings, guide field teams, and coordinate with subcontractors to keep work on schedule, quality, and safety goals while working on civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and controls scope.

This is a field assignment with heavy emphasis on hands-on problem solving, documentation, RFIs, and collaboration with site leadership to ensure

Qualifications

• 6+ years construction management experience in similar facility construction.
• PE required or degree + 4 years design experience and 6+ years construction experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance interpreting design drawings, specs, and project requirements to subcontractors and craft teams.
• Coordinate with contractors and site leadership to resolve design, schedule, material, quality, and safety issues.
• Review RFIs and maintain accurate records to support project documentation.
• Support field execution for complex power generation systems and equipment across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and controls scopes.
• Maintain daily site logs and documentation to support project records and reporting.
• Assist with installed quantity reviews to support planning and progress tracking.
• Ensure current design documents are used by teams through document control coordination.
