Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Intermediate Welder to perform precision welding on structural components. You will set up and troubleshoot welding machines, follow blueprints, and ensure weld integrity across multiple processes.

You will work with FCAW-G, GMAW, SMAW and related equipment, perform preheat operations, and carry out repairs as needed. Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with welding experience.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools usage.
• Strong communication with supervision.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities And Duties

• Set-up, troubleshoot and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures
• Preheat and weld metal components as specified by blue prints, welding symbols, job specifications, or welding procedures.
• Weld various processes FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, and SMAW.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder, and other industry machines, tools and equipment
• Make welding repairs and substandard welds

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.
