Job summary

Kelso Industries seeks a skilled Structural Fabrication Lead to direct and perform shop-floor fabrication of structural steel for modular platforms, skid bases, and eHouse structures. You will lead a crew of fitters and welders, ensuring accurate, code-compliant frames ready for mechanical, piping, and electrical integration.

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will set the daily pace for the crew, manage fit-up accuracy, weld quality, safety, and schedule, and ensure modules leave the

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural steel fabrication experience, including 2+ years in a lead or foreman role.
• Proficient in layout, fit-up, and welding; AWS D1.1 certification or ability to qualify.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and weld structural steel for modular platforms, skid bases, pipe rack modules, stairs, ladders, handrails, and equipment supports.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, assembly drawings, and cut lists to plan the build sequence.
• Set up jigs, fixtures, and build tables to control squareness, flatness, and dimensional tolerances.
• Verify critical dimensions before release, including diagonals, elevations, bolt hole patterns, and equipment interface points.
