Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking a Structural Engineering Supervisor to lead structural design for bridges and highway transportation structures in its DC/VA/MD offices. The role requires almost 3+ years of civil engineering for a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years with an associate degree, or 7+ years if no degree.

The successful candidate will supervise staff, review designs, and contribute to business development in the Mid-Atlantic region, with travel among office locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required; 3+ years of civil engineering experience if degree obtained.
• Associate degree in civil engineering or related field with at least 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• If no degree, must have at least 7 years of relevant civil engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, inspections, reports, studies, and specifications.
• Prepare/review designs, specifications, and cost estimates for highway transportation structures.
• Prepare construction documents including stamping final plans for highway transportation structures.
• Perform load ratings/analysis.
• Supervise, manage, and mentor staff.
• Ensure structural group and Mead & Hunt policies are followed.
• Prepare task and contract technical and price proposals.
• Manage project and contract deliverables, budget and schedules.
• Lead business development opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic region.
• Engage in other civil engineering projects as needed.
