Job summary

STV in Pennsylvania is looking for a Structural Design Engineer to work on bridge design and rehabilitation in locations including Douglassville, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. The role involves analyzing existing structures and designing new ones.

Structural Design Engineer – Transportation Group (Pennsylvania)

Located in one of our Pennsylvania offices (Douglassville, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, or Pittsburgh), we seek a Structural Bridge Engineer to design and rehabilitate bridges and transportation facility structures, primarily in Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include highway, railroad bridges, and related facilities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design & analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation and seismic retrofit, and transportation facilities.
• Participate on Design Build Projects and Pursuits.
• Perform QCT and QA on transportation projects.
• Produce contract documents, including drawings and specifications.
• Conduct bridge load ratings using LRFR and LFD.
• Review construction phase submittals.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s Degree is a plus.
• 2–5 years of experience.
• Knowledge of PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and related authority projects.
• Experience with MicroStation and STAAD or similar.
• CSI Bridge, OpenBridge Design experience a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• CBSE certification a plus.
• Specification writing, cost estimating, mentoring, and QA experience.

Compensation Range

$72,053.98 – $82,347.40
