Job description

Structural Engineering Professional Career - NE Region

As a Structural Engineering Professional, you will be an integral member of the design team, responsible for performing a significant portion of structural analysis and design for projects, working closely with the Structural Lead, other structural engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary partners.

Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of structural engineering analysis and design
    • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
    • Exercise sound engineering judgment and problem‑solving skills, reaching out to others for guidance when needed.
    • Apply principles of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic) in accordance with building code provisions.
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control
    • Check your own work, seek peer or senior review when appropriate.
    • Verify calculations performed by other engineers.
  • Manage workload, meet commitments, and take full ownership of assigned work
    • Own your portion of the structural scope and deliver on schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
    • Initiate actions to meet undefined conditions of satisfaction and forecast effort.
    • Identify scope changes and raise them with your Structural Lead.
    • Seek assistance when needed and produce work in a timely, accurate, cost‑effective manner.
  • Develop leadership skills
    • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to less experienced staff.
    • Promote workflow, systems, and tool improvements within the structural discipline.
    • Embrace emerging technologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE or PEng).
  • At least 10 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Experience with U.S. building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
  • Proficiency with structural engineering analysis software, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience designing and analyzing steel and concrete structures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Your home location must be in the Northeast region of the U.S. or Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or in Structural Engineering.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license.
  • Experience in semiconductor or general industrial facilities.
  • Experience leading medium‑sized teams.
