Job summary

TALENThire LLC in South Florida is seeking an experienced structural engineer to lead and grow the practice across commercial, institutional, educational, and industrial projects.

Responsibilities include managing client relationships and staff, directing design, analysis, and inspections, developing FE models, and ensuring accurate calculations and drawings for reports and site visits. A Florida P.E. license and 8+ years in structural engineering are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with Structural discipline emphasis.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in Structural Engineering.
  • Active P.E. license in Florida.
  • Proficiency with engineering / CADD / BIM tools.
  • Experience with RAM Structural Systems, STAAD, ENERCALC and Mathcad preferred.
  • Experience with nonlinear structural analysis is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

  • Perform and oversee structural design, renovation, and inspection projects for various applications (new construction, design build, renovations, adaptive reuse).
  • Perform and oversee structural design & analysis of building systems for commercial, institutional, educational, public-sector, and industrial facilities.
  • Design, detailing, and analysis of structures for low-rise & mid-rise buildings with concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and cold-formed steel.
  • Prepare calculations and drawings for reports.
  • Develop finite element models for complex structures.
  • Perform field-oriented tasks and develop site visit reports.
  • Work directly with clients to foster positive relationships and maintain base business accounts.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Job description

  • This position is posted for one of our most valued clients*****
  • Manage and grow the structural engineering practice in South Florida.
  • Manage client relationships and staff
  • Perform and oversee a variety of structural design, renovation, and inspection projects for various applications: new construction, design build, renovations, adaptive reuse, etc
  • Perform and oversee structural design & analysis of building structural systems for a variety of markets: commercial, institutional, educational, public-sector, and industrial facilities
  • Design, detailing, and analysis of structures for low-rise & mid-rise buildings with a variety of materials (e.g.: concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and cold-form steel)
  • Perform and oversee the preparation of calculations and drawings for reports
  • Develop finite element models for the analysis of complex structures
  • Perform field-oriented tasks (e.g.: investigations, site visits, threshold inspections, condition assessments, etc.) and develop corresponding site visit reports
  • Work directly with clients to foster positive relationships and maintain base business accounts.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed
Requirements
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, South Florida
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with Structural discipline emphasis.
  • 8 years+ years of professional experience working in Structural Engineering.
  • Active P.E. license in Florida.
  • Possessing some of their own base-business accounts is a plus
  • Proficiency with engineering / CADD / BIM tools
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software; experience with RAM (especially Structural Systems and/or Elements), STAAD, ENERCALC, and/or Mathcad are preferred
  • Proficiency in all standard Microsoft Office software applications
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience working with the design and analysis of a variety of structural systems / complex projects; experience with nonlinear structural analysis is a plus!
  • Experience working with structural inspections / assessments, especially with renovation projects
  • Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy
  • Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
