We're partnering with a highly respected engineering and consulting firm that is expanding its Structural Engineering team in South Florida. If you're a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with experience in structural restoration, forensic investigations, and existing building assessments, this is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while advancing your career with an established and growing organization.
This role offers a diverse project portfolio across commercial, multifamily, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and institutional facilities, giving you the opportunity to lead investigations, develop repair solutions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals from concept through construction.
What You'll Do
As a Structural Engineer, you'll play a key role in evaluating existing structures, designing restoration and repair solutions, and supporting projects through construction administration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform structural inspections, forensic investigations, and condition assessments of existing buildings.
- Develop repair and restoration designs, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
- Conduct structural analysis, material evaluations, and field testing.
- Prepare technical reports, expert reports, and engineering recommendations.
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents for technical accuracy.
- Coordinate project schedules, field investigations, and construction administration activities.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients throughout each project.
- Provide technical leadership and peer review for engineering work.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the team.
- Support litigation matters through expert witness services, depositions, mediations, and forensic consulting (as applicable).
- Represent the firm at client meetings, industry events, and professional organizations.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- 5+ years of experience in structural engineering consulting.
- Strong background in structural restoration, repair, rehabilitation, and existing building evaluations.
- Experience producing structural calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BricsCAD, or similar drafting software is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
- OSHA-10 certification preferred.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
