Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Bridge & Structures Intern for our Pottsville, PA office. You will assist with conventional and complex bridge and structure design, load ratings, and inspections while gaining hands-on experience under experienced engineers.

This internship targets Civil Engineering students focusing on structures with potential mentorship and real project exposure. Office-based role in Pottsville, PA, with collaborative project involvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering focusing on structures.
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus preferred or plan to obtain within 2 years.
• Strong interest in bridge and structural engineering.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Familiarity with AASHTO and PennDOT design standards preferred.

Work alongside Benesch’s Bridge and Structural Engineering Professionals dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to transportation challenges. As a Bridge & Structures Intern, you will support conventional and complex bridge and structure design, load ratings, and bridge inspections. You will gain hands‑on experience contributing to design, analysis, and field tasks while learning directly from experienced engineers.

Location

This internship will be based in our Pottsville, PA office, with opportunities to collaborate on active projects and receive mentorship from Project Engineers and Project Managers.
