Job summary

Enclos Corp. is offering a Summer 2027 Structural Engineering Internship in Bloomington, MN. The program provides hands-on experience under licensed engineers and exposure to curtainwall systems on iconic U.S. projects.

You’ll begin with training on curtainwall design, learn about loading, anchorage, and calculations, and progress through weekly topics while applying skills to real project work. Strong interest in licensure and CAD tools is required.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in Civil or Structural Engineering programs.
  • Successful completion of Statics and Mechanics of Materials coursework.
  • Interest in pursuing professional licensure (FE exam and PE).
  • Ability to interpret architectural/structural drawings/blueprints.
  • Familiarity with CAD, structural analysis software, spreadsheets, and technical communication.

Responsibilities

  • Learn curtainwall design concepts and company operations with training.
  • Explore façade loading, building movements, anchorage design, and structural calculations.
  • Progress through weekly topics, building skills in software and structural analysis on real projects.

The Summer 2027 Structural Engineering Internship at Enclos is a hands‑on opportunity to learn directly from licensed engineers while contributing to some of the most iconic building projects in the United States.

What You'll Experience
  • Start with Training: Learn about curtainwall design concepts, company operations, and tools like Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Dive Into Structural Engineering: Explore façade loading requirements, building movements, anchorage design, industry standards, and key calculations such as allowable stress, member moment, and deflection evaluation.
  • Learn by Doing: Progress through weekly topics, building skills in both software and structural analysis, then apply them to real-world project work.
  • Work with Experts: Join project and department meetings to see how engineering decisions shape major construction projects.
  • Contribute to a Project: By the end of the internship, apply your knowledge directly on a live project under the guidance of a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).

What We're Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in a Civil or Structural Engineering program.
  • Successful completion of Statics and Mechanics of Materials coursework is required for consideration.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing professional licensure, including the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam and ultimately becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings/blueprints.
  • Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) CAD, structural analysis software, spreadsheets, and technical communication tools.
  • Curiosity, collaboration, and a drive to learn.
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, between 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Duration: 10–12 weeks in Summer 2027
  • Compensation: Paid internship, with potential to transition into a permanent role after graduation.
  • Internship positions are not eligible for benefits, incentive bonus, or holiday pay.
