Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our Denver, CO office. You will assist in planning, design, and production of engineering drawings while gaining exposure to real project work and industry mentorship.

Requirements include completion of 60 hours toward an ABET-accredited Civil/Architectural/Structural Eng degree and a valid US driver's license. The role offers Intro to professional practice, hands-on project experience, and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
• Must have completed 60 hours towards a Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Structural Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• Candidate must have a valid US driver's license.
• Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gathering information and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
• Prepare assigned sections of reports working under the review of a more experienced professional.
• Collect and analyze data using established procedures and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
• Assist Senior Engineers in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings.
• Participate in projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; assist in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observe construction procedures and collect samples for quality control testing.
• Develop engineering calculations under the supervision of senior structural engineers.
• Provide administrative and operations support.
