Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. invites applications for a Structural Engineering Intern (Summer 2027) in Lakewood, CO. You will assist with design calculations, drawings, reports, and on-site visits under the guidance of our experienced engineers.

Eligible students are pursuing Civil/Structural Engineering degrees (Bachelors or Masters) with a minimum 3.0 GPA, proficient in REVIT, and eager to contribute to meaningful projects at an employee-owned firm focused on impact and a sustainable future.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil or Structural Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficiency in REVIT software and familiarity with engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design calculations, prepare construction drawings and reports, and prepare specifications.

Responsibilities: Hands‑on duties will include assisting with design calculations, preparing construction drawings and reports, preparing specifications, and performing on site visits to construction projects.

  • Qualifications and Experience: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a study‑focus GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher.
  • Genuine passion for the AEC industry and a desire to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in REVIT software.
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis tools.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and tasks, with a readiness to perform duties onsite or at project locations as needed.
  • Previous internship or co‑op experience in the AEC industry is advantageous, though not mandatory.

Location: Onsite Lakewood, CO

Travel: none.

The expected hourly rate for this role is $25/hourUSD. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
